The purpose of the Faith and Hope in the Marketplace ministry is to introduce our friends to the hope offered through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ using speakers willing to share their faith, work, and personal story. Faith and Hope in the Marketplace is organized by members of the Nashville business community and is intended to serve as a platform of encouragement and example to those in our community who are seeking hope in a chaotic world.

With a “customer and community come first” philosophy, Mr. Ed Kobel leads DeBartolo Development’s investment strategy, execution and capitalization.  His approach has led their team to create a nationwide real estate investment platform that spans from Hawaii to Puerto Rico.

Mr. Kobel is also Chairman of IMPACT, a leadership development program, and serves on the Board of Directors for Faith Tampa Bay, Meet the Need, and the University of St. Leo. Recently, Mr. Kobel was elected to the Board of Directors of the University of Tampa, where he will work on the faculty and the student and staff well-being educational program. Throughout his professional career, Ed has devoted his time and leadership to multiple non-profit organizations and was awarded the Outstanding Professional and Community Citizenship award from Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio.  Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. Kobel served in the U.S. Army’s counter-intelligence department. He lives in Tampa, FL, with his wife Becky of 31 years and daughters Elizabeth and Katherine.

As a promising real estate investor, Ed networked with successful businessmen who took him under their wings. “What they were really doing,” Ed reflected, “was pointing me toward a personal relationship with Christ.”
